Yes, that’s really how our master bedroom looks right now, right in the middle of our big bathroom reno.

That just adds to the rustic charm!.If you have an extra fire log and a mitre saw, you can churn out a whole set of these in less than half an hour!.

This year or next!I feel like I’m being just a tiny bit rebellious here.. As a home blogger, I kind of have an obligation to bring you inspiration and pretty pictures to look at.I most definitely should have some kind of designer Christmas tree..I mean, having a kids’ tree is fine.

Multi-colored lights and mis-matched ornaments aren’t the end of the world, but really I should have a second tree (or a third or a fourth) that’s all done up “properly”..I just didn’t feel like it.

We usually put the second tree in the kitchen, but we’re having a big new table delivered in there and I just wanted to leave the extra space empty to move around in while I’m setting up and enjoying the new table..

I cringed a little when Kennedy insisted on the multi-colored light. They both are.. They’re inside right now, just because it’s so cold, but they’ll head out to the back deck probably next month..

They have this really glossy navy blue paint on them right now, and I’ll probably play with them just like this for the Summer, but in the Fall when I bring them back in, I think I’ll probably paint them something a little more neutral, so I can continue to use them willy-nilly in any room of the house..The next morning after I put these together, I came out of the kitchen to find that Kennedy went straight for the chair and was rocking away happily while she watched her cartoons.

If that doesn’t tell you it’s an approved purchase, I don’t know what will.I pulled in the driveway the other day after dropping Kennedy off at school and I thought to myself “I live here. This thought happens often enough, and when it does, I know it’s probably time to grab my camera and go for a little walk before I start with my chores and projects for the day..
